Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) have officially announced that Al Nabooda Insurance Brokers (ANIB) has entered into a partnership with the Emirates Cricket Board as ANIB Official Sponsor of the UAE National Cricket Teams (NCT), for 2018, which includes the Men’s, Women’s, U19, and U16 representative sides.
Zayed Abbas, Emirates Cricket Board Member, and Spokesperson said: “We are very pleased that ANIB has the foresight to support the efforts of Emirates Cricket, and through this partnership, we are confident that the structure and programmes put in place, over the past 18-months, will start to reap larger rewards in the near future. We look forward to taking this journey with them, and to establishing a mutually beneficial long-term relationship.” “We are ranked 13th in ICC’s T20i Men’s rankings, our Women have qualified for the ICC Women’s T20 Global Qualifiers (to be played in The Netherlands in June), as well as our U19 and U16’s winning their respective recent Asian Cricket Council Western Region Championships. We have very ambitious goals to continue these rapid climbs, as well as compete competitively across all formats of the game, whether at home or abroad,” added Abbas.
The one-year sponsorship adds depth to the existing partnership between the ECB and ANIB, who is the Board’s Official Insurance Supplier.
Sukumar Rajagopal, Managing Director of ANIB, said, “It’s with great pride that we join hands with the Emirates Cricket Board to support their continued efforts to promote the game of cricket in the region. The UAE Men’s National team is immensely talented and is moving in the right direction towards reaching the top tier of international cricket in the near future. We are delighted to back them up and to be reliably supporting the well structured cricketing programs put in place by the ECB towards identifying deserving talent from grass root levels.” Speaking further, Raj said, “the Women’s team is showing great promise too and I’d like to take this opportunity to urge parents to whole-heartedly encourage their enthusiastic youngsters to actively pursue the sport. We hope that the ANIB/ECB partnership will be long-term and that it will continue to be a meeting place for cricketing talent and opportunity.” he concluded.
Emirates Cricket’s Men’s team are currently competing in the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 being played in Namibia, which commenced on Thursday, February 8th and will continue through to the 15th (2018).
